All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!
This is one of those films that leaves you really thinking after the credits start rolling. The subject matter is a little hard to deal with. Think Law and Order SVU with a slant.
I thought just about everything about this film was great. The casting was amazing. Ed Harris wins me over as a somewhat corrupt cop. Morgan Freeman I feel is too under used, but good in the parts that he is in. But by far the star is Casey Affleck who is really really great.Consider me a fan. I can’t wait to see the other film I blind bought, “Assassination of Jessie James…”which I heard he is excellent in as well.
Again there is some tough subject matter here..but if you can get past it I think you might see a great film.
Think harder edge Mystic River type flick.
Last props to Ben Affleck -can’t wait to see your next flick -I was so worried I would get a series subject film directed like Kevin Smith -but alas I was pleasantly surprised.
Great review over at DVD Talk review of Gone Baby Gone ->HERE
Enjoy,
DH
I also finished “Double Cross” by James Patterson -which was really good and very fast pacing. If you are a fan of Patterson then I think you’ll enjoy this one with the “Mastermind” back to face off with Cross along with the DC Audience Killer or is it Killers. Alex Cross is top notch. I’m always thinking Morgan Freeman.
Give it a try I think you’ll enjoy -Good reading,

Wow what a great Academy Awards. Just about everyone I wanted to win won.
Here are the ones I was pulling for who won:
Best Picture: “No Country for Old Men“ I’ve see this film and it’s great-The tone just seems to grab you. The Dialog is “real” and very natural. The old lady in the trailer park conversation was good as well as the gas station with the coin, the Tommy Lee Jones dialog is great – I felt the words along with hearing them.
Lead Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis, “There Will Be Blood” -although if Clooney had won that would have been ok
Supporting Actor: Javier Bardem, “No Country for Old Men”
Best Director: Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, “No Country for Old Men”
Adapted Screenplay: Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, “No Country for Old Men”
Original Screenplay: Diablo Cody, “Juno“
Original Song: “Falling Slowly” from “Once,” Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova -which I listened on my Ipod on my way into work this morning.
