Over the weekend after mowing and the typical out doors stuff. I sat down to watch JJ Abrams( The Lost and New Star Trek guy) and I can say with out a doubt I was impressed.

Yes it’s very blairwitchy – with the hand helds -bring your car sick pills cause this is going to be a bumpy ride.

I found the film really fun and different -I think the experiment worked if that was Abrams was going for.

The Characters were ok -Very Gap commercialish -Filmspoting nod . But I liked them -especially the main camera guy. Explaining what he’s doing to every guest at the party….well I found it oddly funny.

The Monster is fun….. What you see of it.

The Bridge scene is great – I felt like I was there.

I wish I was a little more invested so when then end comes I feel for the characters a little more.

I hear that there is a Cloverfield 2. Could we get a different group of 20 somethings looking for thier girl friends. Who knows. Perhaps a Military perspective or perhaps some one watching on TV the NY events and know that it’s coming – Time to prepare.

I thought the film was really fun. Rent it, buy it, Just see it.

I haven’t seen it yet but my preggo friend went to see it and ended up puking in the garbage cans at the entrance to the theater – twice. The next weekend was when AMC put up motion sickness warnings at the doors to all theaters showing the movie.

Hey Doug,

A few of us went ot see this too but we absolutely hated it. Did not care for the story and it ended poorly. I thought the concept was cool but they didn’t pull it off. Here’s to Cloverfield Part Duex.

Bill – I liked the concept too – The rest was so so . It really takes a lot for me to hate a film. Hate is reserved for movies staring Paris Hilton or Lindsey Lohan.
