Wanted – A Comic Fanboy’s Dream Flick

I saw this Late on Friday – It was a real action packed thrill ride.  If you like action, sex, violence and Wall-E doesn’t do anything for you then spend your money on this one. Director Timur Bekmambetov does a great job giving us “The Fraternity”, an elite club of Assassin led by Morgan Freeman. If you are a fan of Angelina Jolie you are really going to like this flick. She plays her character really calm and collectivize. (I was told that she asked for less lines just so she doesn’t come off to wordy. I think it works.) Her role her is very similar to Tomb Raider and Mr. and Mrs. Smith but to the extreme. I also want to mention that James McAvoyis very impressive I haven’t caught him in too much but I was impressed at his acting chops here -Think a little Edward Norton from Fight Club. I look forward to see him in future roles.

The only thing I didn’t care for was some of the dialogue was a little stiff – The entire theatre laughed during the later Morgan Freeman scene. It just doesn’t seem to work. I also wanted more Terence Stamp, why have such a great actor with so little screen time – I’m hoping for Wanted 2 setup.

Sign me up for Wanted 2 i want more.

This film caught me in the right mood and came off really good – I’m guessing that if Kelli were in the seat next to me she wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
